INTAKE MANIFOLD FLOWS
Donovan engineering supplied us with a three Stromberg intake manifold. We installed the manifold on the Crawford head & flowed the combination with 1, 2 & all three carburetor flanges open.
The first flow was with 1 carburetor flange open. This proved to be restrictive.
The second flow was with 2 carburetor flanges open. This proved to be very effective, as opening all three flanges did not gain much more flow.Depending on the size of the carburetor used, two will be a good choice for a street driven engine.
The last flow test was with all three carburetor flanges open. This flowed slightly more than the two openings. For racing, all three carburetors would be recomended.
